Great location just off the busiest of the streets in the popular tourist area of the city so it was reasonably quiet even though our room had a lovely wooden balcony directly over the front door. The style and decor was beautifully finished. Friendly attentive staff greeted us with a complimentary cocktail or soft drink option. Our room was the family suite which was actually a small appartment on two floors with a spiral staircase leading up to a bedroom with ensuite that overlooked the sitting area below. A second double room, also ensuite, was off the sitting area with a window facing the inner courtyard and main staircase. The 'pool' on the first floor looks bigger in the pictures, its actually no more than a plunge pool about 3m long with room for just one or two guests to use at a time. You'd be better off booking the very nice hot-tub on the top floor with views over the city. Breakfast was extremely simple but nicely done. There is no restaurant or bar but masses of options were right outside within a few minutes walk. All very luxurious with AC and fans to keep you cool.

A superior place to stay in Cartagena, literally seconds from the cathedral and Bolivar square. The property is more architecturally impressive than I was expecting, with very high ceilings, traditional furnishings and excellent air conditioning. The hotel doors are kept locked to ensure privacy and security, and the hotel feels like a quiet retreat at the center of the action. The breakfast was great - including options for plantain, yuca and arepas. Staff were very helpful at arranging onward travel, spoke fluent English but are also willing to indulge visitors learning Spanish. Great experience!

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Colombia, and I wish we'd stayed there our whole time in Cartagena! Everything was wonderfully comfortable and welcoming, from the friendly and helpful staff to the free coffee in the lovely library, the strong Wi-Fi, the cleaning service, the comfortable bed and beautiful room to the absolutely gorgeous bathtub. The location was also excellent. The breakfast was very good. It was totally worth it, and really made us feel at home.

The property was beautiful and quaint with very attentive and kind staff. I like that there are few rooms. The breakfast was delicious with many options. The swimming pool was great and a nice way to cool down mid day. We asked for a taxi to the airport a day before departure time get our Covid test and they alternatively brought in a paramedic within 30 minutes and we didn't have to leave to get an antigen test, very nice. I would stay here again if I ever come back to Cartagena.

Hotel was a luxuriously peaceful and tranquil escape from the heat and hassle of Cartegena’s old town. Our room had so much character, with a quirky bathroom, living and bed set up, plus artwork and antiques. Breakfast was delicious and had lots of options. There was a little refreshing pool to dip into after sightseeing. Manuel and the rest of the team were really helpful. It felt like I was actually living in a chapter of one Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s books.
